Original language description
Design Assystance System (DASY) is a knowledge database (KDB) managment software. It provides an ability to create, mentain and use a KDB. It can assist on early stages of design process by providing an access to similar previously created and stored inKDB models and components. The model in DASY is represented as a tree structure of components. All components have parameters which are connected using methods (equation and external computations). All data is tored in XML format. Some additional features were implemented in this tool: parser to solve algebraic equations, multi-objective optimization algorithm, CAD plugin system, external methods plugin system. Two CAD plugins were developed to interact with Pro/Engineer and CATIA CAD systems.
