The testing machine is designed to prove and test dynamic properties of the novel component ?air spring / shock absorber? as the standard test stand for car shock absorbers cannot be used due to special behaviour and properties of the tested component. The air spring / shock absorber does not generate a damping force (in the sense of energy dissipation) in tensile loading. Thus the machine is loading the test sample only by compressive force.
