Simulation as the Analysis Tool for Solving Design as Inverse Problem
Original language description
The paper deals with the specific methods for solving difficult design problems as inverse problems by simulation. The paper starts with the generalized description of simulation of dynamic systems described by ODE or DAE. Then the solving design problems is described by the model of design in general and by the model of configuration design in particular. The solution of many design problems can be described as the determination of equilibrium states of natural or artificial dynamic systems. One of thetraditional examples is the solution of inverse kinematics in robotics by dynamic simulation. This approach is generalized. The solution of parametric design of mechanisms can be significantly accelerated by reformulation of the parametric design as thedetermination of equilibrium states of dynamic systems by simulation or as the optimal control of dynamic systems using simulations. The solution of another many design problems concerns the determination of Pareto boundary of multiobjec
