This article describes the matrix method for solving planetary gearsets and other power-split mechanisms. The powerful and easy algorithmized method is programmed with help of Matlab code to SUNGEAR system dedicated for analysis of power-split systems. Further is elaborated the synthesis of IVT systems. Comparison of different IVT solutions is included.
