Original language description
This paper deals with experimental investigation of combustion possibility of specific waste derived alternative fuels of industrial origin in a pilot 500 kW bubbling fluidized bed boiler. The fuels have been used in both mono-combustion and coal co-firing modes. There are discussed chemical properties of these fuels in relation to hard coal and their variable composition. Selection of two different bed materials - lignite coal ash and burned clay particulates - is discussed in relation of impact on thecombustion process and with respect to the observed serious bed sintering during combustion experiments. Overall results of the combustion experiments regarding operation conditions and analysis of gaseous emissions are presented and they are followed by analysis of the bed materials and sintered ash residues.
