New Approach to Testing Microtraces
Original language description
Design of a testing instrumentation described in this paper enables non-destructive method of examination of microtraces of all kinds. Proposed examined samples for the method are microtraces (paints, varnishes, inks, trichological material) and other material. The aim of an examination is to gain reliable description and examination of material properties of the samples. One of the noted features is colour of the sample. Colour, as well as surface structure, forms one of the significant material property used in further examination and comparison of tested samples. The new approach to the study of samples is based on new implemented examination method which uses concurrent visual and spectroscopic measurement. Original device was designed to meet allthe requirements and constraints given by the testing method which can meet also some special requirements given by forensic applications, as well. First tests of the device were done to verify its abilities.
