Original language description
The study focuses on simulation of rotary kilns processing granular media. Axial and radial dispersion and segregation occurs in inclined rotating cylindrical vessels which contain granular material. In this study, the application of the dispersion modelis verified for the calculation of axial dispersion of granular material during its passage through an inclined rotating cylindrical vessel. Data from the measurement of the residence time of two fractions of granular material in a rotary kiln has beenused for verification of the dispersion model. The rotary kiln was in the slumping mode. The dispersion model provides a relatively true picture of the axial dispersion in both fractions of granular material fed into the rotating cylinder - rotary kiln.Dispersion coefficients calculated according to the published relations approximates the dispersion coefficients estimated according to the dispersion model and the data measured.
