Heterogeneous Diffusion Welds of Titanium and Austenitic Steel
Original language description
Titanium is material which is used in many areas of human activity and often it is necessary to join it with other materials. Generally it is very difficult to do heterogeneous Ti welds by fusion welding. In this research solid state welding technology, diffusion welding was used to create sound heterogeneous joints of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V and stainless austenitic steel 1.4301. There are described mechanical properties (as is reduced modulus Er and indentation hardness HIT) and changes of chemical composition of due to diffusion of elements of such welds.
