Characterization of the Interphase in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymeric Composite for Medical Device Applications
Original language description
In this study we present the investigation of the influence of sterilization processes on micromechanical properties carried out on a composite based on carbon fibers (CF) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) matrix. The effect of widely-used steam sterilization multiple processes on micromechanical properties, particularly in the interphase region between the polymer matrix and the reinforcing fibers, was studied by nanoindentation.
