New Concept of Rotary Table for Multi-Profession Machining Center
Original language description
This paper describes a new concept of rotary table (or lathe spindle), which allows both precise positioning (with no backlash and high torque) and high-speed turning applications. The new patented rotary table concept has been using the torque motor, which is combined with a speed increasing shifting planetary gear train (single or multi-stage). This drive covers the entire range of technological requirements for both positioning and turning applications. The new table is expected to be used especiallyin multifunctional machining centers for large workpieces, but the proposed concept can also be applied to lathe spindles.
