Issue concerning identification of Machine Tools Thermal Behavior according to ISO 230-3 standard

Data obtained by thermal behavior measurements provide information about the thermo-mechanical properties of specific machine tools operated in specific conditions. The relevancy of the data depends on the quality of the measurements. The measurements (which consists of two parts: the temperature measurement of the selected parts and the measurement of temperature deformations) of machine tools thermal behavior are often performed according to the ISO 230-3:2001 standard. However, the ISO 230-3:2001 standard is mainly focused on deformation measurement and temperature measurement is practically neglected. Moreover, the standard contains other deficiencies which are specified in the paper.
