Final Inspection Procedure for Machine Tool Spindles
Original language description
A systematic final inspection of a machine tool spindle carried out directly by the manufacturer is a logical step to enhance the reliability of such an important machine component. A secondary effect of this action is an identification of dynamic properties as well as the kind of the vibration generated by the individual spindle type. The possibility to determine the reference vibration level in statistical way for each type of spindle is an additional feature followed next by the warning and alarm limit computation. A test rig for the above mentioned investigation of high precision spindles was developed in the RCMT for one of the cooperating partners. Simultaneous processing of an absolute vibration on the spindle stator together with the spindle error analysis based on proximity sensors is a unique technique implemented into this testing device. The possibility to investigate the worn (or destroyed) spindle directly from the customer before the remedial process and the subsequent d
