In order to be able to analyze the thermodynamic properties of refrigerants we have assembled the setup containing the sonar tube for the speed of sound measurement in gases, measuring electronic, digitally controlled chiller (thermostatic bath), personal computer and ELMB module for the data acquisition from the pressure and temperature sensors. The setup allow us to measure the speed of sound in the gas phase along the isotherms due to the feedback regulation of the temperature in the sonar tube whichis measured by six temperature sensors. Data acquisition is automatic and it is carried out when the thermodynamic equilibrium is reached at each temperature defined in the text-file list. Gathered data can be used to predict thermodynamic properties using, for example, virial equation of state in acoustic form.
