The article describes an optimization process of the flue gas - organic fluid heat exchanger for the unit operating on the principle of the Organic Rankin Cycle (ORC). The unit is designed to use waste heat from the flue gases of the microturbine with anoutput of 28kW electrical. At first the dimensions and internal configuration are optimized. Then, the parameters of the thermal cycle in terms of their impact of the return on investments proposed ORC unit are optimized. The purpose of the paper is a description of finding the optimal configuration of the ORC device.
