The article focuses on the long distance pipeline transportation. It is based on standards related to the construction of high-pressure and long-distance pipelines. Piping design, materials, route design and usage of ?pipeline pigs? are discussed. The article contains extract from IKL pipeline (Ingolstadt?Kralupy?Litvínov) construction report. IKL provides diversity of oil supplies to the Czech Republic (CR) and enhance its energy security. IKL is connected to TAL pipeline (Transalpine) which runs fromMuggia port in Italy to Germany, and transport oil from the Caspian, the Middle East and North Africa region. Presented calculations investigate the products behavior in piping system. Based on the oil and pipeline research physical model is created. Model simulates the transport of batches in a pipeline.
