Original language description
This article deals with the description of Java application developed by author for the simulation of counterflow wet-cooling tower fill. The application contains both simple Merkel calculator based on Merkel's model and complex simulation module based on the solution of boundary value problem for the system of four ordinary differential equations. Simulation module is based on the work [1] modified and tested by author in [2]. Developed software is generally applicable to the simulation of the distribution of moist air temperature, water temperature, specific humidity of air and water mass flow rate. The computation of the distribution of heat and mass sources through the fill together with the calculation of overall sources of heat and mass is also possible. The influence of atmospheric conditions to the performance of counterflow wet-cooling tower fill is included in the software.
