    The UL-39 ultra-light aircraft, developed by the Institute of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, CTV in Prague is equipped with a ducted fan propulsion unit. This paper deals with noise sources of this propulsion unit and ways of reducing its noise level. For each respective source, potential noise-suppressing design improvements are presented.
