The paper focuses on the optimization of welding parameters for resistance spot welding. It was welded a combination of two steel sheets - high-strength steel sheet thermomechanically treated (22MnB5) coated Al-Si and deep galvanized steel sheet (HX420LAD + Z). The result of optimization of the welding parameters are diagrams of welding area - at constant electrode force (2.5 kN) and constant welding time (14 periods). Diagrams of welding area were evaluated according to ČSN EN ISO 14327. It was given aseries of tests: non-destructive ultrasonic testing, destructive measure of maximum shear strength of spot welds according to CSN EN ISO 14273 and subsequent measuring of diameters of torn out spot welds and compilation of growth curves. After positivetests on real parts were optimized parameters recommended for the production of Škoda Auto a.s.
