Original language description
Diffusion welding was used to weld structural steel E295 in order to observe and analyse diffusion process from the point of view of creation of carbides and other phases at the joint interface. Plain carbon steel E295 was selected so that the results ofdiffusion process can be easily correlated with welding parameters. Diffusion and creation of complex iron manganese carbide was observed. The amount of formed carbides was for some parameters so massive that creation of sound joint was impossible.
