Mechanical Properties of Weldable Low-Alloy Structural Cast Steels
Original language description
By means of a unified composition more grades can be cast of low alloy cast steels and also of steels formerly intended for forming. Such steels, however, must be heat treated according to corresponding standards. The tests performed confirmed that the specified mechanical properties were complied with. Values of impact tests at temperatures below zero °C were an exception ? they cannot be maintained in material grade GS-20Mn5 after normalizing and tempering and also after hardening heat treatment. Simulation was performed of the solidification of test blocks 30 and 50 mm thick.
