The paper deals with the set up different phenomenological and physical models of the automotive shock absorber. The five variants of the phenomenological models have been realized. The most promising phenomenological models have been selected and used for the identification based on the simulation of the physical model. Afterwards the computational efficiency and the accuracy of the models have been tested.
