Numerical simulation of compressible turbulent flows using modified EARSM model

Result description

This work describes the numerical solution of compressible turbulent flows. Turbulent flows are modeled by the system of averaged Navier-Stokes equations closed by the Explicit Algebraic Reynolds Stress Model (EARSM) of turbulence. EARSM model used in this work is based on the Kok?s TNT model equations. New set of model constants which is more suitable for conjunction with EARSM model has been derived. Recalibrated model of turbulence together with the system of averaged Navier-Stokes equations is thendiscretized by the finite volume method and used for the solution of some realistic problems in external and internal aerodynamics.
