NONLINEAR MATERIAL MODELS WITH MUTUALLY INTERACTING DISSIPATIVE PROCESSES
Original language description
This work presents a thermodynamically formulated model of shape memory alloys (SMAs) with plasticity and its numerical implementation. The model is designed to simulate the response of polycrystalline NiTi-based SMA materials. Its features include a description of the transformation between austenite, R-phase, martensite, its reorientation and von Mises plasticity with hardening in martensite. The model is created within the framework of continuum thermodynamics of irreversible processes and implemented as UMAT subroutine in finite element software Abaqus. Current goal is to improve robustness and computational efficiency of implemented numerical algorithms.
