    Simulation of a Pitched Blade Impeller Mixed Vessel ?Comparison of LES, DES and RANS simulation with LDAmeasurements

    The study deals with a numerical simulations of a single phase turbulent flow in a fully baffled mixed vessel stirred by pitched six-blade impeller. A commercial CFD program ANSYS FLUENT was employed. Calculations with LES, DES and RANS turbulent modelsare presented. The LES turbulent model is used with Dynamic Smagorinsky-Lilly Model. The Werner-Wengle wall function is used to cope with the requirements of near wall cell size of LES model. The DES and RANS are used for comparison. The Delayed DES model based on Realizable k-epsilon model was used. Realizable k-epsilon model was also selected from RANS models and used with scalable wall function. The same computation mesh with 1,033 thousands elements, which was created mainly for LES model with wallfunction, is used for all models. Impeller movement is simulated by Sliding Mesh model which is used for transient simulations (LES and DES) and by Multiple Reference Frame approach which is used for steady simulation with RANS model.
