Specification of NOx emissions from combustion of lignites in a BFBC
Original language description
This paper presents experimental results for identification of the effect of a bubbling fluidized bed combustor operational parameters on the fuel N to NO conversion factor. The tested fuels were two kinds of lignite coal having different volatiles and Ndaf content. Tested parameters were oxygen concentration in the bed, bed temperature, degree of air staging and fluidization velocity. The more volatile coal has the higher N to NO conversion factor, despite the lower Ndaf content in comparison with the second sort of coal. The more volatile coal is more sensitive towards the changes in the tested parameters, typically in magnitude of multiples. The oxygen concentration in the bed is the most affecting factor on N to NO conversion factor for the less volatile coal. The bed temperature has the strongest effect on the N to NO conversion factor for the higher volatile coal. The higher volatility also corresponds to the stronger effect of air staging on reducing of the N conversion and there is also stronger effect of temperature and oxygen concentration compared to the coal with lower content of volatiles.
