Specific Features of the Oxy-fuel Combustion Conditions in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed
Original language description
Oxy-fuel combustion is one of the promising approaches in CCS technologies. This technology produces a flue gas with high concentration of CO2. This paper discusses the verification of oxy-fuel combustion conditions in a bubbling fluidized bed combustor. It deals with the theoretical analysis of oxy-fuel combustion and contains comparison with the combustion using air. It is important to create a proper methodology for stoichiometric calculations and for computations of basic characteristic fluidization properties. The methodology presented here is developed for general purposes and can be applied to calculations for combustion with air, oxygen-enriched air, as well as for full oxy-fuel conditions. It includes calculation of flue gas recirculation and covers the possibility of inclusion of partial condensation of water vapour from the recirculated flue gas in the case of using dry flue gas recirculation. The paper contains calculations for a lignite coal, which is taken as a reference fuel for the future research including experiments.
