The abrasive wear is very intensive degradation process of machine parts in the mining, earth moving and coal based thermal power industries. Present knowledge of material parameters and their influence on the wear by particles does not allow to predict lifetime of machine parts. The laboratory tests of different surface layers will enable their optimum selection.
