A Verification of Methods for Calculating Notch Tip Stresses and Strains
Result description
This paper deals with analytical models for calculating notch tip stresses and strains in elastic-plastic isotropic bodies subjected to multiaxial proportional and non-proportional loading. Calculations are performed using both the Neuber rule and the equivalent strain energy density rule, and hypothetical notch tip elastic strains and stresses. Since selected methods were designed two decades ago, a verification on FE models with different meshes is performed and presented.
