Elastic tube damping effect on periodic unsteady flow
Original language description
The aim of this study is to determine a damping effect of elastic tube for periodical unsteady flow through circular tube and orifice. The damping effect of elastic tube means a reducing difference between maximum and minimum flow rate and reduction difference between maximum and minimum pressure drop during one period of flow. The periodic unsteady flow, generated by a controllable pump, has sinus shape in an inlet. A set of flow regimes was measured for rigid and elastic model and results were compared to determine the damping effect. The measuring range of medium Reynolds number was from 400 to 1200, range of Womersley numbers was from 8 to 19. The pressure loss for each conditions was quantified by amplitude and phase lag against flow rate.
