Analysis of Synthetic Jet Flow by Means of Proper Orthogonal Decomposition and Dynamic Mode Decomposition Based on CFD Data
Original language description
The results of numerical simulation of synthetic jet flow are analysed by means of modal decomposition technique. Three typical laminar regimes are compared from the point of view of modal decomposition. The first regime is without synthetic jet creationwith Reynolds number Re = 76 and Stokes number S = 19:7. The regime of synthetic jet without vortex roll-up is defined by Re = 145 and S = 19.7. The third regime of synthetic jet with vortex roll-up is regime with Re = 329 and S = 19.7. Modal decomposition of obtained flow fields is done using proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and using dynamic mode decomposition (DMD). Vortex street like structure with travelling vortex ring is identified using the topology of dynamic modes where the vortexes arevisualized using the concept of residual vorticity. The speed of travelling vortex is evaluated using the wavelength identified from DMD modes.
