Experimental Analysis of Steering Shaft with Focus on the Strength of the Bonded Joint

Presented article focus on the choice of suitable adhesive for tubular joint of steering shaft loaded with toque. Experimental measurement of the loading torque was done for determining design parameters of the joint. According to obtained results, composite tube and suitable adhesive were chosen to replace traditional shaft in formula student car. Shear experiments on at specimens were done also to obtain strength of the adhesive. Specimens were manufactured with dierent curing and inuence of this curing on strength of the joint was investigated. Result of this work is the right design of the tubular joint loaded with torque with required safety.
