    Plasma Transferred Arc of High-Speed Steel II – The Effect of Pulsation on Thermal Field

    Plasma Transferred Arc is in industrial practice an often used method of increasing in lifetime of industrial parts by applying protective layers made of high-resistivity materials. This method is characterized by lower investment cost compared to laser cladding, and by higher controllability of process in comparaison with MIG, MAG cladding. High-speed steel is a commonly used material because of its hardness, resistance to wear namely for abrasion and erosion . Tools made of high-speed steel are made by methods of traditional or powder metallurgy. The study deals with the influence of plasma current pulse frequency and its influence on deposit properties. The temperature field measurement was also carried out in order to study the pulsed current on substrate heating.
