Original language description
The paper describes results of experiment in which the influence of refractive index of measured liquid on PIV measurement results was observed. First, the inaccuracies resulting from deformation of image of the measured plane were quantified. As a next step, a simple algorithm to eliminate optical distortions was designed and used. The correction algorithm is applied to experimental data obtained by the PIV measurement of the liquid flow in tube with asymmetric narrowing. The measured data show degree of variation and quality of results for two working liquids with different refractive index. The correction algorithm is being tested on the experimental data and its efficiency is being critically assessed.
