The paper discusses a simplified model of a plume, which should serve as a basis for better comprehension of the events that occur after the outlet from the cooling towers and assessment of the systems for reduction of the plume (i.e. Moisture Recovery Systems). From the results of the simplified model, a method is derived for assessment of the size of the plume in relation to the parameters of the air leaving the cooling tower and ambient air.
