Heat transfer distributions on the falt bottom of agitated vessel measured with temperature oscillation method
Original language description
The Temperature Oscillation Infra-Red Thermography (TOIRT) method was used to measure local heat transfer coefficients on the flat bottom of the agitated vessel. There were measured local heat transfer coefficients between the flat surface and a confined impinging jet generated by an impeller located in a draft tube. Experimental results are compared to heat transfer coefficients between the flat surface and impeller in the baffled vessel. The TOIRT method by Wandelt and Roetzel is based on establishing a phase-lag between the oscillating heat flux applied to the heat transfer surface and the surface temperature response using a contactless infra-red camera. The phase-lag is in direct relationship with the heat transfer coefficient. This method is validated by results comparsion of a jet impinging perpendicular the plate.
