This paper deals with the problem of chemical and mechanical pre-treatment of hot dip galvanized components for the adhesion of organic coatings. The first part of the paper summarizes the current problems of the current pre-treatment of the hot dip galvanized parts, the basic methods of these pre-treatments and their overall comparison in terms of adhesion of the organic coating. This is particularly the comparison of mechanical and chemical pre-treatment in terms of adhesion, economical and time-consuming.
