Abrasion Resistance Of Hot Dip Galvanized Zinc Coatings With Tin Addition
Original language description
Hot dip galvanizing is one of the most widespread ways of protecting steel materials with metal coatings. Lifetime of thus produced coatings is more than 50 years at ambient conditions, and compared with the organic coatings do not require repeated application and maintenance. The properties of the zinc coating may also be partially influenced by using of certain elements in the steel or zinc bath. In the research at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, CTU in Prague, the aim was to evaluate the zinc coating wear resistance in relation to tin content in the zinc melt.
