Identification of Cycle-to-Cycle Variability Sources in SI ICE based on CFD Modeling
Original language description
The paper deals with detailed modeling of SI engine cycle while using LES approach and predictive combustion model (LES ECFM-3Z). The main focus is put on identification of main CCV sources. Based on simulation results (and in-directly supported by experimental data), the main conclusions are drawn: the most important source is turbulence generated during intake stroke while initial flame kernel development has also non-negligible effect on initial flame front development.
