Formation of the water droplets at high speed
Original language description
The paper introduces preliminary results from a new steam/air wind tunnel built for the study of the coarse water droplets in in the steam turbines. The tunnel was designed to study of the water droplets formation from liquid films at high speed flow. The tunnel is equipped with the classical measurement of the flow and for the analysis of the droplets size distribution function. Two measurements methods are available for the droplets measurement, photogrammetry and light scattering. The liquid film is produced on the airfoil placed in the converging-diverging nozzle and studied liquid is pumped by the dozing pump on the airfoil surface. Coarse droplets in the steam turbine play significant role on their reliability and efficiency.
