Surface Laser Hardening of Ferritic Nodular Graphite Cast Iron With Higher Content of Silicon
Original language description
The contribution deals with the surface hardening of NGCI with a higher content of Si and compares the results with those for current NGCIs and with flake graphite cast iron (FGCI). Results of surface induction hardening and surface laser hardening are also compared. Surface laser hardening of NGCI with a higher content of Si resulted in considerably higher hardness in depths 1.5-2 mm under the surface and consequently to higher wear resistence.
