    Towards numerical simulation of the macroalgae movement and photosynthetic growth within IMTA-RAS systems

    This work aims to contribute to the research and development of Integrated MultiTrophic Aquaculture (IMTA) production systems. Such systems, where the synergic effect of an aquaculture (usually in form of a Recirculated Aquaculture System -- RAS) and a macroalgae (seaweed) culture system is exploited, could reduce the pressure on both, the open sea fishing and the use of terrestrial and inland water resources. IMTA-RAS systems represent an emerging research topic due to their biotechnological potential with an impact on human health and wellbeing.
