Original language description
Modeling of a steel reheating furnace process from a model-based control point of view is presented. A two-dimensional numerical model of heat and mass transfer is developed for the steel reheating furnace with considering thermal radiation, slab throughput, simple combustion and other specified assumptions. Such a complex and spatially distributed parameter system is pre-processed by linearization and model order reduction for design of a state estimator and a state-space controller eventually. Results of the estimator based on the reduced model are verified with the full nonlinear model simulation.
