The main topic of this article is to perform a comprehensive overview of the current state of readiness models for the implementation of elements of industry 4.0 in engineering and manufacturing companies and to describe rough design of new general model. The automotive sector is the leader in the implementation of Industry 4.0. For automotive and other companies in the entire supply chain, there are already models existing that accurately assess the maturity / readiness of the company from the perspective of Industry 4.0. Thanks to these models, it is possible to evaluate the degree of implementation of elements of industry 4.0 or it is also possible to evaluate the state of the system before the first implementation of elements of industry 4.0. The reason for creating an overview that maps the existence and state of such models is the fact that in some specific industries these models do not exist and it is necessary to create new models.
