HYBRID SHEET METAL JOINING "RIVETING COMBINED WITH ADHESIVES"
Original language description
The article focuses on measuring and evaluating the strength properties of hybrid joints created by a combination of gluing and riveting. Four types of adhesives and three different surface pretreatments are compared. The properties of the adhesives are compared: acrylic adhesive AR 810 Auratech, methyl acrylate adhesive 3M Scotch-Weld DP 8407, epoxy adhesive 3M Scotch-Weld DP110, and Bison Poly Max adhesive based on MS polymer Bison Poly Max. The surface pretreatments of the contact surfaces for gluing are compared here: degreasing, corundum abrasive blasting + degreasing, and anodizing + degreasing. Hybrid and adhesive interlaced joints with a contact glued surface of 30 x 30 mm are tested here. The hybrid joints are always connected with one sealing rivet Al / St 4.8 x 14.5 mm in the middle of the glued surface. Joints are tested in shear. The result is an evaluation of the strength of individual joints, the influence of the optimal glued layer on the strength of the joint, and the difference between glued and hybrid joints.
