Electrode Wear During Resistance Weding Depending on the Type of Surface Layer of Welded
Original language description
Special surface treatments such as inorganic coating based on sulfur compounds, inorganic coating based on zinc salts and acidic aqueous compound (polyelectrolyte, silane, wax) on HX180BD+ZM100 steel are designed to improve ductility, adhesion properties of the material and at the same time to reduce tool pollution during stamping, while the impact on the following process of resistance spot welding should be minimal or unaffected. The study deals with the investigation of the special surface treatments influence on the welding process and electrode's durability during metal sheets welding in the automotive industry. With increasing electrode's wear the welding parameters change is monitoring and final quality of the welds is evaluating.
