Optimization of SCRE operation (gasoline mode only) - status 2021
Original language description
The SW is supposed to enable to predict the details of thermodynamics of the target ICEs using both 3-D CFD and 0-D/1-D CFD. Most of the data/results are based on 3-D CFD and the main focus is put on combustion modelling while using LES approach (turbulence model capable of predicting CCV effects). The standard model is based on turbulent flame front propagation (LES ECFM-3Z). Different combustion modes are modeled and compared while considering gasoline fuel only with experimental data (classical spark ignition, turbulent flame jet based on passive pre-chamber operation). This result is purely focused on gasoline operation (as a main fuel, which enters the main combustion chamber) – however, different fuels (hydrogen, CNG) can be introduced into active pre-chamber. This work is closely related to 1-WP03-011. Extensive experimental campaign was performed to test different operating conditions (load, speed, fuel) while considering both classical spark and pre-chamber one in passive mode (this one allows for lean operation). This was supported by detailed 3-D CFD simulations to get better understanding of important in-cylinder phenomena. The active pre-chamber was designed, manufactured and assembled – the initial runs were performed to verify reliable operation. The active pre-chamber operation is expected to enable very lean operation, hence achieve the goal of advanced combustion mode with high thermal efficiency and very low pollutant formation (NOx).

Technical parameters
Tento autorizovaný SW vznikl v rámci aktivit NCK1: JOBNAC. Rozsáhlá databáze výsledků 3-D CFD LES simulací. Databáze je tvořena výstupními soubory programu AVL FIRE (obecný 3-D CFD nástroj; Linux/Windows). Byly propočteny různé pracovní body a různé konfigurace motoru.
