    The functional sample is an experimental device and instrumentation used to measure variable labyrinth seals used in gas turbines. The device works in conditions of variable parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rate), which are regulated by the inlet air system. It is also possible to change the geometry of the seals according to the selected type of rotating disk. The rotating of the disk is formed by a spindle which can operate up to an operating speed of 60,000RPM, which affects the structural and efficiency parameters of the measured seals. The pressure and temperature fields are also measured.

  • Economical parameters

    The results of the equipment have a significant impact on the development of new designs of turbine aircraft engines with a focus on safety and trouble-free engine operation. The functional sample is used for testing of new construction and operation condition of the labyrinth seal in the gas turbine and measuring limiting radial clearances can be determined during the development of new power units. This affects the more efficient and effective operation of the engine and increases the performance parameters of new engine designs by up to several percent. The economic consequence is an increase in market competitiveness and an increase in its demand.
