Original language description
The article deals with tensile testing of two different primary coating materials, in order to select the most suitable one in terms of mechanical resistance. Samples of optical fibers with primary coating made from polyacrylate and from polyimide were tested. The parameters examined were the mechanical strain at failure, the highest tensile force achieved and E-modulus.
