ALUMINIUM FOAM MADE BY FOUNDRY TECHNOLOGY WITH POWDER FOAMING AGENTS
Original language description
This article focuses on the manufacturing of aluminium foams using powder foaming agents in the school foundry at FS CTU. By modifying the Alporas method for both stabilization and foaming in one step using calcium carbonate, a functional manufacturing process is investigated that produces aluminium foams with the least number of defects. After finding such a manufacturing process, the aim is to use the DOE methodology to evaluate the relationships of selected manufacturing variables on mechanical properties. The DOE outputs are then used to find the optimum values for producing aluminium foams with the specified properties.
