Effect of different material grades on numerical simulation of stamping

  • Original language description

In modern engineering, the possibility of predicting processed material's behaviour through numerical simulation is increasingly used. Knowledge of this issue is important to ensure the stability of the stamping process. Achieving higher process stability leads to a reduction in the number of correction loops for forming tool optimisation, lower production rejects, and time and financial savings in tool and die shops. However, with respect to increasing productivity, there is instability in the pressing process, which may be related to the material’s behaviour when the deformation rate changes. Some material cards are already obsolete and need to be renewed. In this article, three material cards for different material grades will be compared. The material cards will be compared with the created card for the material. The data was measured using the tensile test and the Nakajima test. Data processing was done by the ARAMIS optical system using DIC optical methods.
